RTEA CONTRACT AGREEMENT March 22, 2011

COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT The RTSD Board of School Directors and the leadership of the Radnor Township Education Association have reached an agreement for a three-year contract.

SALARY

YEAR ONE - SALARY RTEA members have agreed to a salary freeze September 1, 2010-March 3, 2011

YEAR ONE - SALARY No step movement Average pay increase after freeze: 1.57% Top salary step remains at current level Average lump-sum payment for top salary step: $749

YEAR TWO – SALARY RTEA members move to next step Average pay increase: 3.26% Top salary step remains at current level Average lump-sum payment for highest step: $1,206

YEAR THREE – SALARY RTEA members move to next step Modest increase to top salary step Average pay increase: 2.66%

HEALTH BENEFITS

YEAR ONE – HEALTH BENEFITS Blue Cross Plan C1F101 Fixed contribution Sept. 1, 2010-March 3, 2011 Percentage of salary contribution Beginning March 4, 2011 Contribution range: % Health care pool provided during plan transition

RTEA WORK YEAR : 191 days : 190 days : 191 days

RETIREMENT PAYMENT Eligible RTEA members will receive a one-time retirement payment ranging from $25,000 to $50,000, depending on the number of retirees. This retirement option, which is in effect for two years, will allow the district to plan for orderly transitions and reduce the district’s payroll obligation.

TUITION REIMBURSEMENT Teachers will continue to be able to participate in a pooled tuition assistance benefit linked to the tuition rate for graduate courses at the Penn State Great Valley campus. All courses and programs require pre ‐ approval by the superintendent to be reimbursed.

JOINT COMMITTEE The RTEA and the board are committed to maintaining the highest quality of education in the district. In that spirit, the RTEA, the superintendent and the board will work together on a joint committee to discuss and collaborate on resolving issues that impact the future educational environment and learning in Radnor’s schools.
