 This course was created by Hakimi bin Halim and Hishamuddin Siri. They are lecturers in the Fine Arts Program, from Faculty of Applied and Creative Art UNIMAS

 For sure, students think that this course is just to fulfill their requirement to get a scroll and graduated.  We think the other way round :  We take this course seriously as it is important for the society to know about the importance of images, social media usage and its impact toward society. Impact towards students and students community.

 We created the kind of catchy name for this course for students to enroll.  “Digital Photography and Social Media Imaging”  Catchy isn't it?

 1. This is serious business. So you must meet the requirement to pass.  2. Despite the fact that it serious, it will be fun. Don’t get stress.  3. Serious business needs serious commitment especially your attendant. Please meet 80 percent or you have a great chances to failed.

The Photography Apps, Social Media and Dynamic Technology of Photography  Digital Photography Apps (4)  Understanding Digital Terminology and The Implication of Sensor and Digital Storage (3)  New Era of Digital Photography and The Significance of Photography Apps (4)  The Impact of Commercial Photography in The Social Media  Digital Visual Audits (4)  Digital Processing and Finishing (4)

 All of the learning units will consisted 42 Guided Hour and 12 weeks lecture in class. Don’t miss it.

 1. Project 1 - consist 30 marks  Understanding Camera and Elements of Photography  The task that will be given is related to learning unit 2  You must master all of the elements and upload all of the picture in the apps that can be access by public.  The detail and instruction of this assignment will be announced on week 2

 2. Project 2 – Consist 70 marks  Project 2 is consider as final project. It is so important for you to score this project to get A. At least target 60 to 65 out of 70  The task is so simple, a little bit challenging but yet, its fun. Trust me!

 In the Project 2, the task that will be given to you is : “Building Pictorial Portfolio by Using Apps”.

 The portfolio is not printed portfolio but digital photography application in the market either Playstore or Iphone Apps. It can be access by public and definitely your lecturer as your evaluator.  At least in the portfolio, you must record or take the best 100 pictures in your life time by your own, using DSLR camera or Camera Phone. Build your picture portfolio. There is no theme. You set your theme according to your creativity.  You are free to enjoy and experience yourself with your esthetic point of view about pictures. Take anything and everything.  “SUBJECT CAN BE ANYTHING, ANYTHING CAN BE THE SUBJECT”

 My Suggestion  Subject can be :  Everyday object that you can transform to be something extra ordinary  Landscape  Peoples  Architecture  Macro creatures : insect etc  Wedding Photograph  Event : Sport, Concert, etc  Or what so ever

 Final Examination  The good news about Final Examination is all questions are objective questions  30 questions. Each question represent 1 mark.

 1. Bahasa Malaysia (Crucial, all international student also have to learn our language. Malay archipelago and Asean is expand and this region are expected to be one of the world economic power, so take the opportunity to learn, grab the chance to master Bahasa Malaysia as your third language)  2. English (Also I have to use English for your better understanding, especially on my note and slide presentation)  Language is just a small barrier. Don’t get mess with it.  The language that I want to stress out in this class is “VISUAL LANGUAGE”
