What is AVID? AVID stands for A dvancement V ia I ndividual D etermination “AVID’s mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.” Because an AVID student is in a program that requires a multitude of resources from the school and district, we expect a multitude of diligence, effort, time and academic success from our AVID students.

What is AVID? AVID stands for A dvancement V ia I ndividual D etermination It is a college-preparatory program designed to prepare students performing in the academic middle who have the potential to succeed in rigorous courses, but may be underachieving in level- classes. AVID students must be enrolled in at least one pre- AP class. It is for students who want to take Advanced Placement or Dual-Credit classes in high school. It is for students who have the desire and determination to do their best in school and become leaders! It is for students who want to attend a four-year college or university.

What is AVID?
