Animals of the Coastal Plains How good are you at identifying animals? These animals roam the wide open areas of the coastal plains. Wild Boars and Hogs They feed off of plants.

Let’s Look at More Animals. What has a hard shell and hides in his home when scared? Did you know… The bog turtle is the rarest reptile in the state. An alligatory snapping turtle can grow up to 300 pounds!

Endangered Animals of the Coastal Plains Pocket gophers are very RARE in this region. They are near extinction. You’ll rarely see it above ground. You can find it in tunnels under the earth.
