Iraq war No End in Sight

Reasons The war started in 2003 –We wanted to stop them from having WMD ( weapons of mass destruction.) – To end terrorism by Saddam Hussein. –To free the Iraqi people. –Help them with a stabilized government.

Suddam Hussein We captured Suddam in December of –Put him on trial in November of 2006, three years after we captured him. Had many charges put on him relating to the 1982 killing of 148 Iraqi Sh’ites. A month later in 2006 Saddam was executed by hanging him

Cost of War and Casualties Almost 100 thousand people have died since we went to war. 1,000,000,000,000 –Near the total spent on Afghanistan and Iraq.

The bad Paul Bremer – Tried to set up the program named de- Ba’athifaction Caused havoc with the group Sunnis. We lost millions trying to help them, making us look like a mistake in the war. Many people were unemployed at the time when we had the free trade policy, which failed.

My thoughts I think that we should of never got involved with this war. We spent some much money and time on this war which we accomplished nothing. Sent way to many troops over. Should of let them handled it themselves. Hopefully we will end this war soon
