Peaceful co-existence Turning point, Stalin the leader of the Soviet Union dies in The Soviet people greeted Stalin’s death with relief as his regime had been repressive and people suffered a lot of hardships e.g. anyone who had opposed him had been arrested. Replaced by Nikita Khruschev in 1955.
