Biography of Melvil Dewey and his life.

Melvil was born on December 10 th, 1851 into a poor family in Adams Center, New York.

Amherst College was the college Dewey went to when he was in college. He turned out to be the librarian. While at Amherst College, Dewey publishes the Classification and Subject Index for Cataloguing and Arranging the Books and Pamphlets of a Library Readings
