Pesticide Evaluation Report Laws of the United States Government for use of Pesticides on Projects in other Countries 12 Parts

USEPA registration status of the proposed pesticide Is the same pesticide product registered for same or similar use in the USA?

Basis for selection of the pesticide What are the reasons for choosing it? Price, availability, effectiveness, safety, friendly to environment, or other?

Extent to which the proposed pesticide use is, or could be, part of an IPM program Integrated Pest Management (IPM): Use of many different tactics to control pests

Proposed method or methods of application, including the availability of application and safety equipment Spraying or use of pesticides is dangerous to people and requires use of personal protection equipment

Any acute and long-term toxicological hazards, either human or environmental, associated with the proposed use, and measures available to minimize such hazards Pesticides are toxic to people and the environment. We need to reduce risks.

Effectiveness of the requested pesticide for the proposed use Does the pesticide work well?

Compatibility of the proposed pesticide use with target and non-target ecosystems Does the pesticide kill fish, birds, bees, farm animals?

Conditions under which the pesticide is to be used, including climate, flora, fauna, geography, hydrology, and soils Can the pesticide enter your water well, or kill other plants and animals in forests near your farm?

Availability of other pesticides or non-chemical control methods Are there less toxic pesticides or other methods that can kill the pests on your crop?

Republic of Georgia’s ability to regulate or control the distribution, storage, use, and disposal of the requested pesticide Can Republic of Georgia manage pesticides well so that farmers, citizens, drinking water & environment are safe?

Provision for training of users and applicators Does the Republic of Georgia and AgVANTAGE have the ability to train farmers on safe use of pesticides?

Provision made for monitoring the use and effectiveness of this pesticide We need to continuously check that pesticides are used safely and continue killing the pests
