What is the International Working Group Grant Program? A competitive awards program designed to stimulate international interdisciplinary research and outreach and to catalyze MSU’s partnerships with universities and other organizations across the globe.
How can I get involved ? By creating an interdisciplinary, cross-college international working group By submitting a proposal requesting up to $2,500 for a 12 month duration
What are the eligibility requirements? The proposal should be centered on a specific, internationally- oriented research or outreach theme The working group must include at least three members from at least two different colleges at MSU
Is there an opportunity to request additional funding? YES, an additional $2,500 may be requested if the interdisciplinary working group includes faculty or research staff from one of the universities or international organizations identified on the International Institute website.
Where can I find the list of the universities or international organizations? You will be prompted to log in with your MSU netID and password
What does the application packet consists of? 1.A completed grant application form that includes the following information: Purpose Goals Strategy Activities Beneficiaries 2. A 2-page CV for each of the working group members, with special focus on international experience Impact Location Partnerships Funding Sources Budget
INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH WORKING GROUP GRANT APPLICATION FORM
When is the application due? December 15, 2015 All documents should be combined into a single electronic file and ed to Shauncey Hill at An International Institute committee, made up of senior II staff and other senior administrators on campus, will review all submissions. Notice of award will be sent out January 15, 2016.
What is the review criteria? Clear Purpose Achievable Goals Answers global question Experienced participants Reasonable Plan Consistent with MSU’s strategic focus areas Includes an existing & established institutional partnership Measurable Outcomes
Where can I find the application?
If awarded, what is expected? Progress reports must be prepared quarterly to briefly describe the group’s activities At least one competitive research proposal must be submitted through the International Institute, to an appropriate external funding agency
