Trnsport Test Suite Status Presented to the AASHTOWare Trnsport IT TAG October 12, 2004

Test Suite Objectives Reduce delivery time and costs –Automated, standard testing across modules –Uniform cross-module test database –Reduce manual effort for all types of testing Onsite installation verification –Using standard tests provided with product Agency-specific testing –Agency-developed tests –Based on agency configuration and data

Status: Reduce Delivery Time and Costs Automated tests for PES/LAS, DSS, SM, and CES batch processes developed 5%-10% overall automated test coverage Framework for batch test automation High volume database from CO DOT data All supported database platforms

Status: Onsite Installation Validation Will be delivered in December 2004 Uses standard automated product test plans –Same as tests used for release testing –Standard product test cases –Standard product test database After product installation, run these tests to verify product installation and configuration

Status: Agency-specific Testing Identified by TTF as a requirement that must be addressed in the next phase Analyzing options for providing this capability ODBC record/playback option prototyping indicates too expensive due to complexity

Test Suite Plan Phase I – Completed in June 2003 Phase II – December 2004 Phase III – June 2005 (Scope being finalized) –Expand automated test coverage –More progress on Agency-specific Testing –GUI test automation options analysis Future Phases –Expand automated test coverage –Automated user interface testing
