The Writing Process – is it Linear? { NO !}

Writing Process Prewriting:Thinking – getting thoughts on paper Planning:Thesis statement, main ideas rough outline (can change) Drafting:Write it out from beginning to end (don’t worry about grammar & punctuation) Revising:Seeing your work again – focus on content – make big changes – put time between you and your paper – share your ideas Proofreading:Grammar, punctuation, transitions, format (editing) – read backwards
