 Francisco Vasquez de Coronado was born in He was born in the country of Spain.

 He sailed for the country of Mexico because he and his country wanted lots of gold. Francisco heard about the Seven Cities of Cibola. Cibola was said to have houses made of gold.

 The exploration was a failure. They realized that the “gold” on the houses was really the sunlight shining on clay pueblos. Then they knew the Seven Cities of Cibola did not exist. Although, people found a lot of information in this region. They discovered the Grand Canyon and the Continental Divide.
