Types of exam question in science 1.Multiple choice 2.Using data (graphs and tables) 3.Written answer /recall (2 marks) 4.Extended writing (6 marks) – QWC Tests – literacy, numeracy and scientific skills/knowledge

Revision is the same – no matter what course is being studied! Organise notes, revision guides and other resources Write a revision timetable Plan in at least two hours a day revision at the weekends and throughout the Easter holidays Revise actively -Re-write, summarise but not just sit and read notebooks –this rarely works, you need to get active

Revision is the same for all science courses! Possible revision techniques: 1.Flash cards (key concepts + info) 2.Concept maps/spider diagrams 3.Learning mats 4.Past papers and mark schemes (make sure they look at 2012 courses) 5.Learning checklists + glossaries 6.Teach a ‘friend’ 7.Write your own exam questions and practice them 8.Solo hexagons 9.Revision guides
