Rights, Responsibilities and Rules Journey into society

Rights A right is how we expect things to be in our class room.

The basic rights The right to be treated with respect and in a fair way. The right to learn without being interrupted by others The right to be safe The right to make mistakes

Responsibilities We are responsible for making our rights happen We have to take control of our thoughts and behaviour Staff responsibilities Pupil responsibilities

Rules Rules are how we carry out our responsibilities and make sure our rights are met. Rules in our society Rules for our classroom

In Room 16: We brainstormed in groups what our classroom should look like/feel like and sound like. From this we made a treaty which is on display in our classroom We also decided we needed monitors to help with different things in the class This means everyone in the class has a responsibility

Our Class Treaty states the rules in our class In Room 16 we will -Use nice voices to say nice things -Always show consideration for others -Be patient and share nicely -Walk inside -Always be good listeners -Respect our classroom and keep it tidy Our Helping Hands state our responsibilities in the classroom Together our treaty and helping hands ensure our rights are being met
