Comic Superheroes: The New Mythology

Mythology of the past vs today  In ancient Greece, and other early civilizations, stories would be passed from one person, and one community, to another verbally.  In the earliest civilizations these stories were also depicted by drawings on the walls. I.E. Hieroglyphs in Ancient Egypt  In these stories were tales of Gods and super powered heroes, most demi-gods. They told of the creation myths and stories of these mighty heroes facing off against monsters  In today’s world where religion is still predominant, these stories of great and powerful heroes have taken the form of comic book characters.  The comic book stories tell of empowered heroes, and some without powers, as they face off against monsters both supernatural and human.

New stories to ignite patriotism and hero worship  Achilles  Captain America
