Snap Responsibilities Basic 3 Person Run/Pass Initial Position –Line of scrimmage Keys – Line, Receivers your side Snap Responsibilities – Snap, Motion, Initial Rush, Release of receivers Initial Position: - 5 yards from the side line -17 yards from the scrimmage line & behind the deepest def. back Keys -Receivers your side Snap Responsibilities –far receiver from LJ Initial Position –7 and 7 at 45 degree angle Keys –Passer and immediate blockers Snap Responsibilities –Delay of Game, Snap, Contact around Passer, Passer

Basic 3 Person Run Play LJ closes down at the end of the play when marking the spot. LJ holds initial spot; reads the running play; moves up the field. BJ read the keys for run/pass. Do not let receivers behind you. Once you read run, let the play come to you. The R maintains a 7 & 7 position in relation to the player with the ball. BJ helps clean up / hold spot if LJ has penalty.

Basic 3 Person Pass Play LJ closes down at the end of the play when marking the spot. LJ holds initial spot; reads the passing play; moves up the field. The R should maintain “inside looking out” perspective when QB reverses to short side of field. BJ Helps to get spot on deep pass play. Once the pass is released, the R shouts “Ball’s Away”, & checks for illegal forward pass The R maintains a 7 & 7 position in relation to the player with the ball. BJ: Do not get beat deep!

Basic 3 Person Goal Line (ball snapped on or inside the 10 yard line) If the goal line is the zone line-to-gain, hustle to it once the ball is snapped. TOUCHDOWN Before signaling, BJ & LJ should make eye contact to ensure correct call. Initial Position: Start on the endline 5 yards from the sideline

Basic 3 Person Reverse Mechanics INTERCEPTION! After change of possession, BJ cleans up behind play. LJ & R need to officiate the play as it comes to them. R is responsible for goal line.

Basic 3 Person Reverse Goal Line When the ball is snapped inside of the 8 yard line, the LJ should move back to cover the goal line. Once the goal line is no longer threatened, the R and LJ will move upfield similar to the other players. Reverse mechanics are also used when the offense is backed up to their own end zone. The R and LJ will need to communicate coverage of the goal line and end line before the play begins. When the ball is snapped inside of the 8 yard line, the R will start on the end line prior to the snap.

Punt Out of Bounds The R should raise his/her hand above his/her head and make eye contact with the covering wing official When a punt goes out of bounds, the R should move to the K scrimmage line Make eye contact with the R. Begin walking towards the spot where the ball may have gone out of bounds The covering wing official should jog past the area where the ball went out of bounds. When the wing official reaches the out of bounds spot, the R should chop his/her arm. X
