 In the Salem witch trials Puritans gathered to worship and attend the trials.  Salem witch villages isolation insecurity and fear of witches led to unusual events during the winter of  The courtroom fits of young girls led to the hysteria sensationalism of the salem witch trials.  Salem town had religious and political, over the salem village.  Between the first of the accusations at the beginning of 1692 until the fall of that year, hundreds of people were accused of witchcraft.  More than half spent months in trial. 19 were hanged, one was pressed to death with stones, and 4 died in jail before the trials.  Puritan family’s suffered harsh weather and illness they lived of fear of attacks.  Mather was born in 1663 in Boston Massachusetts.  As a minister he wrote sermons and books about how the devil was testing the puritans by putting witches in their community's.  Mather reassured the crowed that sometimes the devil could take the appearance of an angel and he advised them to let the hanging proceed.  John Cotton and Rev. Richard Mather, Cotton Mather seemed destined to achieve fame. His own father, Rev.  Increase Mather, also held a position of prominence as a well-admired political leader, minister of the South Church in Boston, as well as the presidency of Harvard College. Sarah had a difficult life do to many things her and her husband William good had to beg for food and shelter. More than half a dozen people testified that she had cursed them. Even her own husband spoke out against her. On July 19, 1692 good was led to Gallows hill to be executed she refused to admit she had done anything wrong. Good's position as a disreputable and marginal member of society made her a perfect candidate for witchcraft accusations.  In 1670 Bishop’s husband Thomas Oliver accused her of practicing witchcraft and claim she had given her soul to the devil.  In 1687 she was once again accused of being a witch this time they questioned her role of a neighbors death.  Two men who were hired to make repairs on bishop’s house they testified that they had puppet like dolls with pins stuck into them between walls.   Bridget Bishop was the first person to die in the Salem witch trials of . Bridget Bishop was not a typical woman of the times in dress, manner, or actions and had been persecuted for this in the past.  The Governor of Massachusetts, was born in 1651 near Kennebec main.  He immediately set up a special court called oyer and terminer (to here and determined) Phips helped to end witch trials.  I think people who were in the witch trials was not fair what they did to them because they should of have their own rights back in the day Like we do now. And how badly they treated those people whom claim to be innocent. The people should have respected others wishes and concerns. I would have liked to be treated with a little bit more respected.
