SEARCHING FOR SCHOLARSHIPS  Scholarships are available from variety of sources  Colleges and universities  Businesses and corporations  Foundations and non-profit organizations  Each scholarship has its own deadlines, application, and application requirements  Most scholarship deadlines are generally between November to March of each year

SCHOLARSHIP HOMEWORK  Using the scholarship information you brought today share with everyone the following information:  Scholarship name  Organization providing the scholarship  Deadline (Is it a postmark deadline or submission deadline?)  Requirements of the scholarship  Application materials that must be submitted

MAKING YOUR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION COMPETITIVE  Follow the application instructions  Submit your application by the deadline  Write a compelling scholarship essay  Include strong letters of recommendation
