JACTS DAY CHEER!

1.We identified common issues. 2.Brainstormed possible solutions and actions. 3.Presentation workshop. 4.Writing action plan.

A Time For Action!

Our common theme is Rubbish Pollution and Waterways. The four schools brainstormed possible ideas and solutions for the problem and how we can help within our schools and community.

We would like to present the following Actions that will be put into place.

Catholic Schools Clean Up and Sustainability Week A video: The Life cycle of a Piece of Rubbish Eco Forum Day – Act's Day Puppet Shows and Role- plays

We would like to invite all Catholic Schools to participate in a Catholic Schools Clean Up and Sustainability Week.

The schools could take part by: A Gold coin donation to go towards planting trees Waste free lunches Worksheet free day Clean up our school area Clean up a local park or reserve Also join together and wear green to support our Earth.

A video: The Life cycle of a Piece of Rubbish We want to present a video that will show the journey of a piece of rubbish. It will show how it travels through drains and ends up in our waterways. This video will create an awareness to students and will educate them about the consequences and what will happen.

Eco Forum Day – JACTS Day The aim of the day is for each school to present and share their eco –friendly practices and ideas in a forum, this will encourage schools to become more interactive and environmentally friendly. This day will be open for other schools to visit and learn about the different ways they can participate.

This day will also include: Guest speakers Aboriginal representatives Liverpool City Council Raffles and prizes Learning Activities Uncle Steve

Puppet shows and Role-plays The main purpose of this idea is to show the effects of rubbish through an artistic way. The role-play will demonstrate to students what they can do to help the environment. It is lots of fun and students will be able to create their own characters each year and change the theme.

The show will be taped and presented to the school through a video presentation for students to watch.

Our Action Plan encourages all students to interact and learn about the environment. It can be held yearly so that it is an ongoing journey. It involves the council, community, local residents, parents and students.
