I can explain the resource posting process and identify the part of the process that will be covered in Session 3. I can articulate my responsibilities as a member of the SNE. 1

What came before this session? Governing States approve the Formative Assessment Master Work Plan, which outlines the development of the Digital Library. Educators join state teams committed to developing the Digital Library SLT and State Network of Educators (SNE) complete Sessions 1 and 2, which introduce the Digital Library and the Quality Criteria. SLT members participate in two days of in-person professional development. Formative Assessment Advisory Panel (FAAP) convenes to develop the Quality Criteria. 4

Formative Assessment Process Defined 5 Formative assessment is a deliberate process used by teachers and students during instruction that provides actionable feedback that is used to adjust ongoing teaching and learning strategies to improve students’ self- assessment, reflection and attainment of curricular learning targets/goals.

Expectations of SLTs and SNEs 8 SLTs (8-12 per State)SNEs ( per State) Recruit, identify, and train SNEs. Help populate the Digital Library in advance of the March/April 2014 launch. Review supplemental resources using Quality Criteria. Submit additional resources for review. Monitor and support SNEs’ review of resources and make final posting decisions. Provide feedback on the resources in the Digital Library, the review and posting process, the Quality Criteria, and usability of the library. Provide feedback on commissioned and supplemental resources. Use the Digital Library resources and collaboration tools for professional learning and instruction. Provide overall leadership to the SNEs and administer stipends. Provide feedback on the resources in the library, the review and posting process, the Quality Criteria, and usability of the Library.
