Objectives Students will be able to: Establish relationships between science, technology and society Apply routines when working on science

Purpose Students will be able to: Apply the knowledge gain about science to everyday-life situations.

Ice Breaking Activity: “When I Learn…” Complete the survey provided. You will share 3 answers with an elbow partner or student next to you. Introduce yourself if you don’t know your partner. Decide who will share first (#1) and who will share next (#2). Each person has 2 minutes to share 3 answers.

Activity: “Learning Lineup” Follow your teacher’s directions to form 2 lines. Take turns to share your idea of “science” with the student across from you. After 1 minute, it’s your partner turn to share his/her idea about science. When your teacher calls, move down the line to find another partner and repeat the activity.

What is science? Write your definition of science on a sticky note. Place the note on your class poster.

Homework Get a composition book (journal) and a cover for your book. Hand in letter to parents and complete Information Card. Search for a science fair project.

Before you leave today… Place the completed survey in your class tray.
