Family Friends Boyfriends and Girlfriends Partners, Husbands and Wives Who do you have relationships with? (Discuss with partner for 2 minutes and feedback to class)

 What do we mean when we say someone is “going out” with someone?  What do we mean when we say someone has a “partner”?  What do we mean when we say someone is “going steady”?  What is the difference between having a “boyfriend” and a friend who is a boy?  What is the difference between having a “girlfriend” and a friend who is a girl?

 Complete the handout “Making a relationship work well”  You must list 5 things in the column should do and 5 things in the column should not do to make a relationship work  Feedback to class

◦ What, if any, are the differences between the girls’ answers and the boys’ answers? ◦ What does this suggest about how the genders view relationships? ◦ Feedback as directed.
