Why Do People Start to Smoke? What are the problems?

Native Americans smoked before the Euro-Americans arrived Tobacco was the first crop grown for money “cash crop” in 1612, it was their main source of money.  Tobacco helped pay for the Revolution against England Since the 1980’s federal, state, and local government restrict smoking in public areas It is illegal to advertise smoking on the radio or on television in , 000 people die every year, with 280, 000 being men the other 200, 000 being women.

Contributes to 5 million deaths worldwide Second hand smoker causes 42, 000 deaths in the U.S., 600,000 people die worldwide from second hand smoke. Life span of a smoker, 13 years shorter 42 million in the U.S and 1 billion throughout the world!
