Mahara What is it?  Introduction to Mahara

Mahara Why use it?  Build eportfolio  Add files, content and media  Share for assessment  Share for employment

Mahara How to use it?  Create Templates.  Students supply contents. Template/Curriculum Centred. Student Centred.  Students create pages and supply content.

Mahara Checklist.  Why am I using it?  Can students use the tool?  Is there ‘added value’ for students?  Templates, or student centred?  Do I need more storage space for students?  Will they use other tools for storage, e.g. YouTube?

Mahara What do staff need to know?  100Mb file limit. Can be increased for specific groups.  Students would require training for use of the tool.  If using templates, some time required to set them up.  Some mobile functionality: Some issues to consider.

Mahara What do students need to know?  All pages and content can be shared – privacy issues.  Some investment of time to learn to use the tool.  Materials can be exported for use elsewhere at end of the unit/course. Issues for students.
