Management Styles Which one is best?

Autocratic Managers Manager makes all decisions. Advantages: – Quick decisions / Efficient Disadvantages: – Less input/ideas – May cause lack of motivation Practical in stressful times or emergencies

Democratic Managers Allows employees to take part in decision making. Advantages: – Increase in job satisfaction – Wide range of expertise Disadvantages: – Slow decision making process – Decisions may not be best for the business Practical for solving complex problems

Laissez-faire Managers Employees make their own decisions “Hands-off” approach Advantages: – Employees take pride in work – High morale Disadvantages: – Employees may be working against company goals Effective with highly skilled or educated employees
