Tryptophan Tryptophan The tryptophan in chocolate acts as a precurssor for seretonin formation. Seretonin is a protein that can stabilize one's mood. In general, female individulas have lower levels of seretonin in their bodies, which explains about the frequent expression of negative mood of women. For such a reason, the consumption of chocolate can be a way to upturn one's mood.
