The Classic Period The Classic Period of Mayan culture occurred between 300 – 900 AD. The ruins of Mayan buildings found today date back to this period.

Mayan Buildings In the jungles of Mexico and Guatemala, the Mayans built pyramids and temples.

The Buildings were Colorful Archeologists have studied the insides of some chambers and have discovered the walls were originally painted bright colors.
