Canada and China have many similarities and differences. Both Canada and China are large countries in the world. Canada is a little larger than China in size. They are of similar length from east to west. Both countries have many high mountains and great rivers, which attract tourists from all over the world. Because of the big size, the climate varies from area to area in Canada, as is in China. As for customs and culture, the word “multicultural” can be used to describe them.

Although the two countries have much in common, the differences between them are great. First, Canada has a much smaller population than China although it covers a bigger area. Second, In Canada, people are expected to speak English and French, while the official language in China is Chinese. Third, much of Canada is covered by forests while China has a very special Gebi Desert in the northwest, from where in winter and spring

the cold air blows dust southward to the northern parts of China. Even the Great Wall cannot keep out the dust. Another difference is that China has fourteen neighboring countries. Its borders are over 20,000 kilometers long. Canada, however, has only one neighbor, the USA to the south. Both Canadians and Americans speak English, but it’s not so easy for Chinese to talk with their neighbors, even if they live close to the border.
