Science Grant Scheme A BIG Thank You from the children and staff at Kingsbury School

Kingsbury School is a school for children with learning difficulties. In 2010 changes were made to our curriculum and new topics were introduced. The grant has enabled us to buy new resources for these topics and improve learning for each pupil.

There are 12 topics to be covered over 3 years. Here are some of the topics and examples of resources we have been able to buy as a result of the grant. OurselvesFood pyramid chart MovementWooden car ramp with different surfaces MaterialsMaterials bag Metal detectors and magnets GrowingLife cycle jigsaws Life cycle wheels RecyclingBig book and activity

Here are some photographs of the children in their Science lessons.

We fo We found out about our organs and about how blood is pumped around our bodies. We experimented with magnets and researched what magnets can be used for.

We talked about different types of food in the food pyramid and which we need to eat the most of. We also found out about our skeleton. Chelsea identified all the bones in the skeleton and Tom met a skeleton!

The grant money has been extremely valuable to us at Kingsbury School and the staff and children would like to say a big thank you!
