INTRODUCTION CREATION THE MAKING OF MAN THE CREATION OF FREEDOM THE POWER OF TEMPTATION PARADISE LOST AND REGAINED CAIN AND ABEL

GENESIS 4:16-19 “Then Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden. And Cain knew his wife and she conceived, and gave birth to Enoch; and he built a city, and called the name of the city Enoch, after the name of his son. Now to Enoch was born Irad; and Irad became the father of Mehujael; and Mehujael became the father of Methushael; and Methushael became the father of Lamech. And Lamech took to himself two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other was Zillah.

GENESIS 4:20-24 And Adah gave birth to Jabal; he was the father of those who dwell in tents and have livestock. THE RISE OF CIVILIZATION: CAIN BUILT A FAMILY! CAIN ENOCH IRAD (“city of witness”) MEHUJAEL (“smitten of God”) METHUSHAEL (“God is dead”) LAMECH JABAL AND JUBAL TUBAL-CAIN “Then Cain went out from the presence of the Lord.” (4:16)

THE GODLY INFLUENCE OF SETH! IN THOSE DAYS: DAYS OF MORAL DECLINE DAYS OF INCREASING DARKNESS DAYS WITHOUT GOD IN THOSE DAYS: MEN BEGAN TO CALL UPON GOD! MEN WENT PUBLIC WITH THEIR FAITH! MEN STARTED TO STAND UP FOR GOD!

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A CHRISTIAN IN A NON-CHRISTIAN WORLD? 1.It means BEING DIFFERENT IN HOW WE LIVE 2.It means TAKING A STAND FOR OUR FAITH 3.It means WALKING WITH GOD EACH DAY 4.It means BEING IN THE MINORITY 5.It means FACING AND ENDURING OPPOSITION 6.It means LIVING BOLDLY AND COURAGEOUSLY

LESSONS FOR TODAY 1.PEOPLE MATTER TO GOD! YOU MATTER TO GOD! 2.GOD HONORS THOSE WHO CHOOSE TO WALK WITH HIM BY FAITH! 3.HOW YOU LIVE YOUR LIVE LEAVES AN INFLUENCE FOR THE GENERATIONS TO COME! 4.IT’S NEVER TO LATE TO START WALKING WITH GOD AND STANDING FOR HIM IN OUR FAMILIES, WORKPLACE, AND SPHERE OF INFLUENCE!
