ELDERLY CARE Over 50 percent of the people in the U.S. and western countries who are older than 75, live alone. The common aging needs include provision of stair lifts and extra rails (to facilitate easy movement of the elderly between floors) and provision of hand rails in showers and toilets.

ELDERLY CARE Proper Nutrition Psychosocial Needs Elderly Health Care Safety and Security Activity and Exercise

ELDERLY CARE The elderly are more likely to suffer from health problems like arthritis and rheumatism, eye disorders and hearing disabilities. They are more prone to suffer due to hypothermia (low body heat), especially during winter. They may even be suffering from psychiatric problems such as Senile Dementia (Alzheimer's disease)

ELDERLY CARE Always allow the person to have adequate time to understand your question. Please be patient with them, remember some of the elderly do not hear as well as you do. If you have a loved one that has been diagnosed with a dementia related illness. Always be cautious when they are having their meals.

ELDERLY CARE Allow your loved one ample time to begin walking after arising from a seated position. Spend good quality time with your dear loved one. Remember to integrate their psychosocial needs and the task they must accomplish (Integrity vs. Despair)
