Course Description the text internet activities listening comprehension reading comprehension exercises writing short compositions integrating Chinese culture throughout the course including calligraphy, carving name seals, singing Chinese songs, making sky lanterns, moon cakes … etc.

Assignments Homework: Students can get help from the websites, CDs, etc…(and may me w/ questions) Students may turn in homework one day late for partial credit. Homework is given 3-4 times per week.

Grading Participation 15% Final exams: oral, listen, and written20% Projects, quests, and tests 20% Homework and dictations 30% Class work15% I believe every student has the potential to earn an “A” in my class and we will have a great year!

Keys to Success Bring all materials (HW, textbook, workbook, paper, and pencils) Volunteer frequently to answer questions orally or in writing Be prepared to answer questions when called upon Participate in oral activities Do written and oral class work Abide by the school’s rules and follow class rules Use only Chinese in class. Anytime students do not speak Chinese, they will lose points. Be in class on time (when the bell rings, students should be in class with all their materials ready to start) ** If a student loses the book, he or she needs to replace it as soon as possible.
