BHP Aims To maximise Bristol’s health research To transform the understanding, prevention and treatment of key health problems in Bristol.

Dementia HIT Health Integration Teams (HITs) HITs are cross-organisational and interdisciplinary groups set up to harness research, innovation, education, healthcare and prevention strengths to improve health outcomes.

Why a Dementia HIT? Draw together several initiative across Bristol Primary care diagnosis pilot Recommissioning of services planned Expert health service researchers Opportunity to translate world-class laboratory research into clinical trials Dementia HIT

We aim to deliver the best quality of life for people and families living with dementia through- Dementia friendly communities Excellent services based on highest quality evidence World-class research Dementia HIT

We aim to deliver the best quality of life for people and families living with dementia through- 5 workstreams – Transforming care for people living with dementia – Developing world-class dementia research – Education that delivers – Dementia-friendly communities – Patient and public involvement Dementia HIT

Progress – Increased diagnosis rates – New Bristol Dementia Partnership – HIT is now strategic driver for dementia care – Public and patient involvement in research – Pilot projects of dementia friendly communities – Increased research opportunities for patients – Memory Research Register – Population survey to be repeated Dementia HIT
