Use, read, write and convert between standard units, converting measurements of length, mass, volume and time. Describe positions on the full co-ordinate grid (all four quadrants) Draw and translate simple shapes on the co-ordinate plane, and reflect them in the axes. Interpret and construct pie charts and line graphs and use these to solve problems. Calculate and interpret the mean as an average. Number, Calculation and Problem Solving- solve problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division solve addition and subtraction multi-step problems in contexts, deciding which operations and methods to use and why solve problems involving the relative sizes of two quantities where missing values can be found by using integer multiplication and division facts solve problems involving the calculation of percentages [for example, of measures, and such as 15% of 360] and the use of percentages for comparison. Arithmetic – weekly tests and ‘ how to approach’ training. Geography Name and locate rivers and understand how some of the features have changed over time. To solve a problem by planning and carrying out data collection, by organising and analysing data using a data base, and by drawing conclusions and presenting findings to a particular audience. DT Use a wide range of tools and equipment to perform practical tasks accurately. Select from a wider range of materials and components according to their functional properties. Investigate and analyse existing products. Evaluate their ideas and improve their work. Strengthen, stiffen and reinforce.
