What is career day?  Lone Star College Cyfair is hosting a career day to give students the opportunity to listen and speak to people who work in fields such as nursing, philosophy, and many more. You will learn about education levels, salary, and what a typical day looks like for them. Career day will be very informative and beneficial to students.

Cardiothoracic Surgeon Jennifer Cozart, M.D.  Jennifer Cozart, MD, is the Surgical Director of Pediatric Transplantation at Children's Medical Center Dallas, Assistant Professor in the Division of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Associate Program Director of the Thoracic Surgery Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Dr. Cozart earned her A.B. in the Classics from Harvard College and completed medical school at Boston University School of Medicine. She completed her general surgical residency at Brown University School of Medicine/Department of Surgery, where she also was Executive Chief Resident. Police Officer John Smith  After leaving HPD, John served six years as a Houston City Councilman eventually becoming Mayor Pro-Tempore under Mayor Bill White. On City Council, John gained valuable experience in how government works—experience that will help him maintain a transparent Sheriff’s Department that is, above all, accountable to the taxpayers of Harris County.  John has been a police officer since He has served as patrolman, sergeant and currently holds the rank of chief. He is a board member of the Narcotic Officer's Association and the Fraternal Order of Police and also a member of the County Drug Task Force. He is the recipient of the Narcotics Officer's Association Outstanding Police Performance Award. John is also an assistant wrestling coach. He has one son and two daughters, ages 8, 12, and 14. Her father has been a Cardiologist in Houston, Texas for more than 30 years and her mother works as a Nutritionist. She was brought up with a desire to serve others, and this, accompanied by her love for children, led her to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. In 2005 Amy was graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science. She attained her Master’s of Science in Nursing and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification in May She is currently a member of The National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and The Central Texas PNP’s. Some of his patients include amputees and pediatrics ranging from 18 to 100 years of age. In a day, he usually see between 8 to 10 patients a day. He has lived in Houston for the majority of his life and doesn't plan on moving any time soon. His philosophy seeks to expose and make sense of the potential of radical innovation (revolution, invention, transfiguration) in every situation.
