The All Partners Access Network (APAN) provides for effective information exchange and collaboration between the United States Department of Defense (DOD) and any external country, organization, agency or individual that does not have access to traditional DOD systems and networks. Profile Your profile is how you access APAN Keep track of what is happening in your APAN network and Groups Anyone with internet access can create a profile Add a bio, picture, experience, contact info Connect with other APAN users – colleagues Join groups Favorite groups and content for quick access

Groups Groups – online communities within APAN that enable collaboration and information sharing between people who a shared interest or goal. Bring together people and information focused on one topic Group owners Group members

Blog What is a Blog? A way to quickly and easily create webpages/articles on your Group Usually maintained by an author or small group of authors Used to create regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, news, or opinions Entries are displayed in reverse-chronological order One to many communication Often used to relay Group announcements Readers can subscribe via or RSS Readers can favorite, rate, and comment on each blog post Blog Terms Blog - short for Web Log – a way to quickly publish to the web Blog Post - An entry in a blog Comment – A short snippet of text under a blog post left by a blog reader Publish - To release a blog post to the public Subscribe – Receive new blog posts automatically in your inbox or RSS reader

Forum What is a Forum? Media Gallery What is a Media Gallery? Post files onto an APAN Group File types – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, images, maps, videos A unique link for each file – easy to to colleagues Add a description, title, tags, comments, ratings, RSS feeds Upload multiple files at once

Wiki What is a Wiki? A wiki allows multiple people to create or edit a web page within an APAN group. A wiki enables APAN groups to write documents collaboratively, using a simple Microsoft Word style editor. The full revision history of the wiki, including when and who contributed, will be archived in the history. The key advantage to using a wiki is that there is no need to worry about version control over a document and all the edits to the document can be viewed by everyone in the group as soon as they are saved by the author.
