What was the term that described the end of the Depression when jobs became easy to find? How did North Carolina’s and the rest of the nation’s economy change as a result of WWII? How did the bombing of Pearl Harbor effect American society in regards to Japanese Americans? What was President Roosevelt’s response to societal concerns regarding Japanese Americans? How did Torpedo Junction get it’s name? Using context clues, what do you think “auxiliary services” means? Give some examples of auxiliary services Copy the following questions in your science notebook and provide a complete answer for each Analysis

Describe how War Bonds worked? How did the war change education in North Carolina? Soldiers returning home had seen many parts of the world that others have not and may never see. When the war ended these soldiers returned home. What did they bring with them? Create a list of how NC men and women helped the war effort. Use the map of NC Military Installations and give a reason why you think German submarines stalked the NC coastal waters.

You could purchase a $25 War Bond for $ The government would take that money to help pay for tanks, planes, ships, uniforms, weapons, medicine, food, and everything else the military needed to fight and win. That’s the investment in your country. Ten years from the time you purchased your War Bond you could redeem it and get $25. That’s the investment you made in your own financial future. Now, $6.25 may not sound like a lot, but most Americans bought more than just $18.75 worth of War Bonds.

Analysis Copy the following question in your Social Studies notebook and provide an complete answer for each
