French Revolution Timeline On the next couple of slides you will see the major events of the French Revolution. On the final slide all of the events will be listed and you will be creating a timeline that includes images.

Events of the French Revolution 1.July 14, 1789: French citizens storm the Bastille 2.August 26, 1789: The Declaration of Rights of Man and Citizen is written

Events of the French Revolution 3. July 1793: Maximilien Robespierre becomes the leader of the Committee of Public Safety 4. September 1793 to July 1794: Reign of Terror – Period of violence/conflict between two groups (the Girondins and Jacobins) – Mass executions – Eventually Robespierre is executed himself!

Events of the French Revolution : The Directory takes over the government – Two House legislature : Napoleon Bonaparte overthrows the Directory
