Options Practice for Unit Assessment 2014 Paper Part E Question 3

Learning Intentions: (I can…) Use the structure needed for success in Options Questions Write an argument in my own words Pick relevant linking evidence for my arguments Explain, with evidence, the reasons why I have rejected the other option

You need to include: Headings for sections A clear recommendation of which option you are choosing to support An argument in your own words and two linking pieces of evidence to back up your argument in the first section An argument that your opponents would use and evidence they would use, then they are wrong because and evidence that proves they are wrong.

Reasons for Choosing Option 1: Keep compulsory voting in Australia 1. Compulsory voting has been around in Australia for a long time. YOU WOULD INSERT ONE MORE PARAGRAPH HERE Reasons for Rejecting Option 2: 1.My opponents would say it’s wrong to make people vote. Source 3 shows, “Forcing Australian citizens to vote is wrong. Everyone should have the right not to vote.” But they are wrong because Source 3, “Compared to other countries, turnout here is much better so the results are more accurate.” AND ONE MORE PARAGRAPH HERE
