Keys to My Success 2.Concentrate on doing what economists do.  Trained on economic tools; others are not.  Useful to me:  Impact Studies  Budget Studies  Economies of Scale  Optimum Location  Routing

Keys to My Success 3.Work with related agencies and College of Ag.  Examples  EMS  State Department of Health, Hospital Association, EMS Association, etc.  Developed EMS Guidebook and other tools  State Department of Health Funded

Keys to My Success  Examples  Solid Waste:  State Department of Environmental Quality, USDA  Developed Solid Waste Guidebook and other tools.  State Funded a position for over 20 years.  USDA has funded us 10 out of the last 12 years

KEYS TO MY SUCCESS  EXAMPLES:  Rural Hospitals  Department of Health, Office of Rural Health, Medical Schools, Hospital Associations  Developed Health Guidebooks and Health Impact Tools  Stated funded a position for over 10 years  Federal Office Funded a National Center of Rural Health for last 10 years.

Keys to My Success Work with Related Agencies Summary Points –Make related agency professionals part of team –Deliver products with them as co-authors –Go to State and National meetings to cultivate the professional relationships –Involve them in presentations.
