What is the primary function of ectoderm for the body? A snake is a cold-blooded, ectothermic animal that warms its body by absorbing heat from its surroundings through its outer layer of skin. What does the stem ecto mean? Where would the ectoplasm of a cell be found? A flea is an ectoparasite because it lives on the outer layer of skin.

When you use plaster you mold something into shape. If something has great plasticity, it is easily molded into something else. What does the stem plast mean? Why would it be easier to build something by hand with plastic than with steel? If “rhino” means nose, what kinds of surgery would “rhinoplasty” be?

A demagogue is a leader who usually arouses prejudice and emotion in his followers. The leader of the classroom is known as the pedagogue, or the teacher. What does the stem agog mean? What would one do in a house of worship called a synagogue? What would be the job description of a mystagogue?
