Tang and Song Dynasties Between 700 ad and 1100 ad China was ruled by two dynasties or families First the Tang and later the Song Although China had limited contact with the rest of the world due to its geographic isolation, several important innovations occurred during the rule of the Tang and Song families China experienced a second Golden Age during these Dynasties (the first being during the Han Dynasty)
