More Renewables!  Japan (1974) CSP (Sunshine Program)  Brazil (1981) Bioethanol  China (2006) Renewable Energy Law  Japan (2011) “ Rooftop PV on 10 mil. houses ”

Does Wind work for Energy Security?  Risks to address Physical Shortage 1.Concentration of supply source 2.Transportation (chokepoint) 3.Geopolitical instability 4.Energy mix portfolio Price volatility

Does Wind work for Energy Security?  Some drawbacks of wind power Variability Distance from Demand Centre Social Acceptance

Social Acceptance Beautiful Ugly

Conclusion  While Energy Security must be achieved through multiple measures, RE including wind power will best serve the end.  Wind Power has its drawbacks. But they are surmountable, and tolerable if benefits are considered.
