More details… Find your group’s current budget – Talk with last year’s board to obtain old forms (not required) Forms to fill out: – Annual budget report Be sure to accurately describe planned events for next year!!! – Budget request form
A note about interest groups… Yes you need to fill out the SEC forms…even if the SEC does not fund you Why??? – to be officially recognized as a SOM organization, you must be recognized by SEC For SEC UN-funded interest groups: – Please include money received from departments
Where do I find the forms?
Regarding the forms… Don’t request money for just lunch talks – be creative with your events! Be reasonable w/ the money you request! – Check comments on old forms (Ex: $15 standard for transition meetings) SEC does not fund intro meetings SEC board reviews EACH EVENT IN DETAIL and will decide to: – fund requested amount – Deny funding for event – Fund event partially
