10 Students study from either printed or CD formats of STEPs. The first task is to read the text in preparation for beginning the first STEP. 10

11 Students then respond appropriately at the “Response” prompt 11

12 The correct answer to the “response” is found in the preceding text. 12

13 A Confirmation Key is included in the STEP and the student confirms his response accordingly. 13

14 After completing the STEP satisfactorily the student tests his retention by means of the Review quiz. 14

15 The student checks his answers to the review and then takes the Pre-Test. 15

16 The Step Test then can be administrated by the Academic Assistant or another proctor designated to do so. This result is then entered into the student’s file by the registrar.
