 Status of data collection: ◦ AT – complete data sets in German and English provided for all selected occupations ◦ SK – complete data prepared in Slovakian, English translation will be finished in September ◦ CZ – data for 3 occupations available, completion of occupational data in September

 Adaptation of selected occupations Following a preliminary data review of the analysis team the project partnership decided to adapt the list of selected occupations.  Occupations removed from the initial selection of occupations ◦ „Chamber maid“ no basic VET training, but only further education courses in SK and AT ◦ „Butcher“, „Baker“ no sufficient evidence of migrant workers in the project area ◦ „Plumber“ market structure rather based on cross-border activities of companies than on migration of workers  Additional relevant occupations included in the analysis ◦ „Shop Assistant“ ◦ „Mechanic for agricultural machinery“ ◦ „Beautician“

 Feedback from companies employing workers from the partner countries with the highest cross-border labour mobility  Feedback on the results of initial and further education in practice -> complementary input for O2  A realistic view on the scope and quality of vocational training referring to the relevant occupations (-> O2) in the partner countries in order to ◦ determine lacks of competencies in the moment of entering a new job ◦ find out which competences are not used

 Preliminary results of activity 02 show ◦ that the migration of skilled workers is mainly directed from SK / CZ to Austria and from CZ to SK respectively ◦ Austria employees in CZ / SK companies mostly have a higher level of education (EQF 5 and more) and are employed in management positions in most of the cases  The project partners agree to reflect this situation in the implementation of the employer survey by preparing two versions of the survey questionnaire ◦ for addressing companies in all project regions that are experienced in employing skilled migrant workers from the neighboring countries ◦ for addressing companies in all project regions that are relevant with regard to the selected occupations, but are not experienced in employing migrant workers, esp. such companies that are in need of skilled work force

 Companies in the project regions employing workers in the relevant occupations ◦ with a high rate of cross-border labour mobility among their employees -> survey questionnaire version 1  Other lead companies in the project region ◦ Offering jobs/ searching for skilled workers in the relevant fields of occupation ◦ with or without experience with regard to the employment of skilled workers from the partner regions or other countries -> survey questionnaire version 2  Drafts of the questionnaires will be prepared by the action lead partner (ConPlusUltra) by September 11 and finalised on the basis of partners´ inputs by end of September. It is planned to start the survey in all partner countries in early October.

The proposed contact list of companies addressed in the employer survey will be adapted acc. to the final choice of occupations and sent out to all project partners by mid September. The partners agreed to compile a joint contact list by end of September in order to identify multi-national companies that will be addressed in a coordinated approach of all partner regions and to coordinate the survey implementation acc. to the specific company structures of the partner regions (e.g. fields of business activities, experience with regard to labour mobility)

 The action lead partner ConPlusUltra invited the manager of corporate apprenticeship training of Geberit/St. Pölten, Mr. Amberger, for a „test interview“ and discussion with the project partners. ◦ Test questionnaire – see next slide  Main inputs from the interviewee: ◦ Language skills are crucial for integrating skilled workers from other countries –> experience based on the exchange of workers (eg. From IT, SI) within the multi-national company ◦ There is a lack of information about the VET systems in the neighbouring countries, esp. CZ / SK. ◦ Openness for exchange with peer experts from CZ / SK.

 Workshop summary – next steps ◦ see ToDo list  Future project activities / events ◦ see ToDo list  Further opportunities for cooperation ◦ Forthcoming calls in Interreg programmes – see next slides
