Glossary I’m swamped at work = I’m very busy To have good people skills = you can communicate with people well to multitask = to do lots of things at the same time

JOBS An accountant A civil servant A lawyer A deputy director An MP (Member of Parliament) A freelance journalist A secretary A tax inspector

Use a/an article with job titles. Incorrect: I'm teacher. Correct: I'm a teacher.

Chairperson Salesperson Businessperson Police officer Flight attendant Don't use 'chairman' or 'chairwoman' because it's impolite. Instead, use 'chairperson'.

Job or Work? Use the word 'job' when you are talking about your profession. Use the word 'work' when you talk about everyday tasks. What are you doing or What do you do? Use the question in Present Simple if you want to ask about the job, and in Present Continuous to ask what the person is doing at the moment.
