What is it? Interstitial Cystitis is a severe condition when you have pain in the bladder, bladder pressure, or even pain in the pelvis. Pain can range from just being uncomfortable to really bad burning.

How it’s Diagnosed There is no definite test to diagnose how interstitial cystitis is diagnosed. Doctors have to put together all of the symptoms that the person has and exclude some other conditions.

What Causes Interstitial Cystitis There isn’t a specific cause to getting this disease. Some symptoms that doctors think that may cause this are: The lining of the bladder will collect with harmful substances of the urine to cause severe pain. An overproduction of histamine. The nerves in the bladder will go out of normality. Some sort of malfunction where the body attacks its own organs.

The Symptoms Not all symptoms are the same for every person that has this disease. Mild to severe pain in the bladder. Having to urinate very frequently. Also having the urge the urinate even when there is a small amount.

Treatment There is no cure for interstitial cystitis, although there are medicine that can help with the pain. Taking various amounts of different pills daily will mostly help with the severe pain with this disease, but not to its fullest.
