14.1. Reading Turkish people love drinking tea. They drink tea to wake up in the morning, to have a nice chat with friends, to keep warm in winter and to keep awake in the evenings. That's a lot of tea! An average Turkish person drinks two cups of tea every day. But people have different preferences. Some people drink it dark, some people drink it mild. Some people add sugar in it, some people don't. Some people add pieces of lemon. When you go to a café and ask for tea, always tell your preference to the waiter. There are many "tea-houses" in Istanbul. They have got many different kinds of tea: Earl Grey, English Breakfast, Ceylon, Turkish Tomurcuk, etc. Normally, a cup of tea doesn't cost much, so it is a very pleasant way of relaxing and socializing.

14.1. Reading Do you like drinking tea? Oh, I love it! How much tea do you drink in a day? I think four or five cups a day. Is that much? I think so. Husband: Honey, I am on the way to home. Homemaker: We don’t have much sugar. Well, We have a little bread. Please go to the market and buy some sugar and a loaf of bread. Husband: OK, Do we have any mineral water? Wife: Yes, We have a few bottles of MW.

14.1. Reading How many tea-houses are there in Istanbul? I don't know exactly. But, I think there are a lot of them. I think so, too. Would you like some tea? No, thanks. It is very hot and I don't want to drink hot beverages. But ice tea is a brilliant idea!

14.4. Daily Life English Dear Penfriend, It is nice to hear from you again. Thank you for the letter. I'm sorry my reply is late. I have a lot of work these days. I have got a part-time job at the school library! I help the librarian three afternoons in a week. There are a lot of books, magazines, cassettes and CDs in our library. I put the books back on the shelves. It's a lot of work really, but I don't have any problems.
