1. Use the tools on the right to create a flag that represents something important to you in the available workspace. I made a flag that represents my home- town. Selection Tool Direct Selection Tool Shape Tools (Rectangle, ellipse, etc…) Fill Stroke Topics to consider: Wilson High School Your Home Your Family Your favorite place Your group of friends A club you belong to

After you finish your flag design, we’re going to describe the symbolism of the various parts of the flag using the Text tool and the line tool. Don’t Move to this slide unless you’re finished your flag design!

1. Look at the Layers tab in the bottom right of the screen. 2. Click on New Layer 3. Click the blank box next to the eyeball icon on Layer 1. This locks the layer so you don’t accidently move your flag design around.

Text Tool Line Tool Use the text tool to create text boxes and write a description of the symbolism for each of your flag’s features. Use the line tool to point the description to the specific feature it’s describing.

If you ever want to hide the description layer click the eyeball icon in the layer palette. Click it again to see it again. 1. Double click the layer names to change them to “Description” and “Flag”

Save your flag as: (YourLastName)FinalFlag Share your flag design and it’s description with one other person in the class.
